Itineary

Day 1 : Pickup to you from Srinagar Airport to Aru Village (112 km, 5-6 Hours by Road)

  • Reach Aru Village in 3 /4 hours via Pahalgam, to Aru village.
  • The distance between Srinagar and Pahalgam is 100 km and will take 3 hours or so to reach by car..
  • The journey is laid across the River Lidder and words might fall short when it comes to describing this cute little of a place that lives up to its name. An array of 200 asbestos roofed huts lined perfectly well amidst the lush green meadows, adjacent to the spectacular Lidder, is a sight worth viewing.
  • Overnight stay at rest house/tent.

Day 2 : Trek from Aru village to Lidderwat Camp (Total Trek 10 km – 5/6 Hours journey)

  • After breakfast the start trek from Aru to Lidderwat
  • The trail will lead into a cluster of Fir trees and then to a large clearing, Dalla near Gujjar huts. From Dalla, the trail is just a nice, pleasant walk on the plain ground through dense pine forest..
  • The Lidderwat have surpassing meadows and you can camp other side because there is open space for camping. Spend time exploring this place, Overnight stay will be in tents.

Day 3 :Trek from Lidderwat to Shekwas camp (Trek 06 km – 4/5 Hours journey, Altitude – 11089 feet)

  • There will be a lot of ascending and then crossing a river in between and some connecting plain terrains..
  • The track is in a straight line, without much difficulty. After some time, the pine cluster will open up to wide and sweeping grassland intersecting towering mountains, creating a cosy valley, adorned with snow patches here and there. The trail diverts into many small valleys and converges upwards toward the Bhakarwal Shelters by the right side of the river.
  • Further, come across grassland beautiful and wide which leads to two soothing green valleys. Have a look at the meadows and pass through the trail with few Gujjar huts to reach your camping site Shekwas

Day 4 : Trek from Shekwas camp to Tarsar Lake. (Trek 05 km – 3/4 Hours journey, Altitude – Tarsar Lake – 12500 feet)

  • The day starts from Shekhiwas Meadow and trails through a snake-like path in the grassland for quite some time before it reaches Sumbal leading us through a valley.
  • The lake turns into a magnificent shade of turquoise blue at night, glistening like precious stones in the lap of snow-covered mountains. That is going to be worthy of all the long hiking and walking done in the previous days.
  • Pitch your tents anywhere on the ground. Camp along the snow fed clear bluish lake and get mesmerized by the idyllic setting. Overnight stay in camp

Day 5 : Trek from Tarsar Lake to Sundersar camp ( Trek – 05 km – 3/4 Hours journey, Altitude –Sundersar – 12978 feet)

  • Start descending through the shepherds’ trail which will take you to the middle of the valley..
  • Surprisingly a wide meadow pops in front with a colorful bed of flowers. The views are enthralling from here and the end route of the Tarsar Marsar trek is also visible with a trail leading to mountains.
  • Follow the trail and reach beautiful grassy land of Sundersar Lake, here you can pitch your tents anywhere on the flat ground, camping here is a delight. Enjoy in the serene beauty of Kashmir and comfortably stay in tents.

Day 6 : Trek from Sundersar camp to visit Marsar Lake go to Homwas camp. (Trek –09 km – 6/7 Hours journey, Altitude – Homwas camp – 11500 feet )

  • Pass along the shores of Sundersar Lake to get through two passes from where you can reach Marsar, Spend some time at Sundersar valley and get back to Jagmargi valley to witness the grasslands again and admire the natural beauty. Do not cross the Tarsar pass but go through the different trail to Shekwas, from here you can reach Homwas in 30 minutes.
  • Reach there, setup your tents, have delicious food after today’s long trek, retire for the night

Day 7 : Trek from Homwas to Aru Village (13km) same day drive to Srinagar by taxi (112 km) (4/5 Hours)

  • Descend from Homwas to Lidderwat, Aru is 13 km away and you can reach there in another 4 hours.
  • Vehicles will be arranged for you till Srinagar. Reach late evening 8 Pm.

Inclusions


Transport to and from the base camp
The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
Safety equipment
First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
Accommodation
Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
Permits/ Forest fees
UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
Experienced Trek Leader & Team
Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.
Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

Exclusions


Food during transit to and from the base camp
Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
Mule and Porter charges
Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
Personal Expense
Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
