Itinerary

Day 1 : Kathgodam - Bageshwar – Loharkhet (Drive 210 kms)

After having breakfast, drive from Kathgodam to Bageshwar via Almora. Explore the town of Bageshwar and visit the old Bagnath temple at the confluence of Saryu and Gomti River. Buy all necessary things from the market of Bageshwar. After lunch head towards Loharkhet and reach by evening. Arrange for guide and porter the same day if required. KMVN has Rest houses in Loharkhet. Overnight in Loharkhet.

Day 2 : Loharkhet – Dhakuri (Trek 10 kms)

Loharkhet is situated at an elevation of 1,760mts above sea level. Start first step of your trek to Pindari and Kafni Glacier. The trek is easy but quite steep and goes through dense forest. After following the trail for few more kilometers from Dhakuri Khal you reach Dhakuri. View of snow capped peaks of southern wall of the Nanda Devi Sanctuary is visible from Dhakuri Khal. Dhakuri is situated at an elevation of 2,680mts amidst dense forest. Overnight in Dhakuri.

Day 3 : Dhakuri – Khati (Trek 9 kms)

Khati is the biggest village that you will come across on the trek to Pindari Glacier. The trail passes through thick forest of Rhododendrons. It is the last village en route Pindari and Kafni glacier, situated at an elevation of 2,210mts above sea level. You can charge your batteries by paying to run the generator. KMVN rest house is situated 500mts ahead of Khati village. Khati is situated on the banks of Pindar River. It is believed that the hospitable villagers are descendents of the race who provided pandavas with shelter. Overnight in Khati.

Day 4 : Khati – Dwali (Trek 11 kms)

Start after having a good breakfast at Khati. Today's trek goes along with Pindar River with two wooden bridges to cross. You can have tea and maggi at Himalayan Hotel, a small dhabha en route. Dwali is picturesquely situated at an elevation of 2,575mts above sea level. Overnight in Dwali.

Day 5 : Dwali – Phurkia (Trek 5 kms)

The 5km trek from Dwali to Phurkia is steep and graded at moderate level. Cross the frozen stream and see the dwindling of forest as you climb. Phurkiya is the last place en route Pindari Glacier where you can find KMVN hut. There is beautiful waterfall just before Phurkia where you can rest for a while. Phurkia is a picturesque place blessed with natural beauteousness. It is situated at an elevation of 3,250mts above sea level. Overnight in Phurkia.

Day 6 : Phurkia - Zero Point - Phurkia – Dwali (Trek 15 kms)

The trek from Phurkia to Zero Point of Pindari Glacier is visually captivating as it offers spectacular view of the mighty Himalayan range. Start early if you want to spend more time at the Zero Point. The mounth of the Pindari Glacier is named as Zero Point and it situated at an astounding elevation of 3,660mts above sea level. One kilometer before the Zero Point you will see a Babaji's house who serves food to the people who makes it upto there. Trekking further from Zero Point on Pindari Glacier requires special equipments and experience. After exploring the praiseworthy beauty of Pindari Glacier trek back to Dwali. Overnight in Dwali.

Day 7 : Dwali - Kafni Glacier (Trek 12 kms)

The Kafni Glacier is situated to the left of Pindar valley. The major Himalayan peaks visible from Kafni Glacier are Nanda Kot (6,806mts) and Nanda Bhanar (6,104mts). Bayaligar is situated 2kms before Kafni Glacier at an altitude of 3,860mts above sea level. The region or Kafni Glacier has its own charm and allures with the solitude terrain it presents. Overnight in Kafni.

Day 8 : Kafni Glacier – Dwali (Trek12 kms)

After exploring the beauty and surrounding area of Kafni Glacier, trek back to Dwali. Return via Bayaligar with trail gradually descending to Dwali. Overnight in Dwali.

Day 9 : Dwali - Khati – Dhakuri (Trek 20 kms)

Trek back downwards to Khati and then to Dhakuri the same day. Carry back with you unforgettable memories and adventurous experience by giving your presence to mountains. Overnight in Dhakuri.

Day 10 : Dhakuri - Loharkhet - Almora – Kathgodam (Trek 10 kms Drive 210 kms)

After breakfast follow the downward trail all the way to Loharkhet. Drive to Kathgodam via town of Almora. Our services will end at Kathgodam.

    The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.

    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
  • Accommodation
    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
  • Permits/ Forest fees
    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
