Itinerary

Day 1 - Drive from Kathgodam to Loharkhet (8 Hours by Road)

Today, following your arrival in Kathgodam, you will be driven to a quaint halmet called Loharkhet. Driving through the scenic route and narrow passes, arrive in the village after 6 hours and get settled in there; rest of the day will be at leisure.

Day 2 - Trek from Loharkhet to Kahrikia and trek to Khati

This exciting day involves an 8km trek to Khati, a village that has mythological stories attached to it. Today, after breakfast in the camp, start with a walk through dense rhododendron forests and enjoy views of exotic flora and fauna. You will reach Khati, the largest village in this region that is home to extremely hospitable and friendly people; it is believed that this village served as the home to the Pandavas during their exile. Arriving in Khati, spend the rest of the day at leisure with an overnight stay in local village huts or tents.

Day 3 - Trek from Khati to Dwali

A fairly simple trek today will take you from Khati to Dwali. For a significant time of the trek, you will hear the gurgling water from the river, will be crossing log bridges and witness magnificent waterfalls as you make your way. Arriving in Dwali, settle down for an amazing evening with the panoramic views around; overnight stay in Dwali.

Day 4 - Trek from Dwali to Phurkia

Set forth after an early breakfast on a trail that is dominated by snow and ice! Today, you will be crossing frozen river and be escorted all along by snow-filled peaks. Unlike other days, today will be a short trek of 5km that can be easily completed within 3 hours. A beautiful waterfall awaits to welcome you just before Phurkia. Enjoy the scenic landscape before you set camp at Phurkia that is at an altitude of 3,250m.

Day 5 - Trek from Phurkia – Pindari Glacier – and Return to Phurkia

Get set to experience and witness a landscape that you have only imagined so far! Your trek will begin early at 0700AM and the first part of it will offer you stunning views of the Himalayan range will take you to Zero Point, or the home to the Pindari Glacier. At an elevation of 3,660m above sea level, this is moment you will cherish your entire life! Breath-taking views and a flawless landscape are sure to leave you spell bound! The Pindar Valley adds to the beauty with small green areas that contrast an essentially white setting. After spending some time here, begin your descent to Phurkia and enjoy overnight stay in a camp.

Day 6 – Phurkiya to Khati Via Dwali

Retrace your journey as you descend from Phurikiya to Khati Walk past forests and lakes, cross rivers and enjoy diverse landscapes while you cover a distance of 19km; overnight stay will be in a camp or in a local guest house.

Day 7 - Trek from Dhakuri to Loharkhet and drive back to Kathgodam (210km by Road)

Today you will complete a trek of 11km that will get you to Loharkhet and back to kathgodam. Trip ends here.

    The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
  • Safety equipment
    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
  • Accommodation
    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
  • Permits/ Forest fees
    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
  • Food during transit to and from the base camp
    Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
  • Mule and Porter charges
    Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
  • Personal Expense
    Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
