Overview

The enormous Milam glacier, one of the largest in the Kumaon region, makes for an excellent trekking route. The 35 sq km Milam glacier hiking track in Pithoragarh region of Uttarakhand has rivers, water streams, canyons, crevasses, and more. It is located at an elevation of 4268 m. The base for the hike to the glacier is Munsiyari, which is located farther down the Goriganga valley. The settlement of Milam is located close to the glacier’s snout. The region suffered substantial destruction during the Indo-Sino war, leaving behind the wreckages, and it was deemed a ghost town in the year 1962. The trekkers and other visitors were, however, permitted admission to the city in 1994. Months between March and May are considered as the best time for trekking. The actual trek to Milam Glacier starts from Bog Udyar, which is a drive-able distance from Munsiyari. The ideal option for your adventure holiday may be Milam Glacier.
