Overview

A small holy town called Madhmaheshwar is located at a height of 3490 metres above sea level. Magnificent snow-capped Himalayas on one side, lush alpine meadows on the other, and dense forest on the back surround it. The beautiful beauty of the lush greens and rustic way of life will wow you as you go along this well-paved road through impenetrable woodlands to small communities. After trekking for 1 km from Gaundhar, you witness the unmatched beauty of the Madmaheshwar Ganga, dense forests, and reach the small Bantoli village. The trek passes past this lush Bantoli town before ascending steadily to upper-Bantoli. Now an arduous trek takes to the final destination of the Madmaheshwar Valley, where the famous holy shrine is on the left. The mountain at the backdrop of the temple is the Buda-Madmaheshwar peak where you can reach after a difficult trek of 2 km in 2 hrs. Four magnificent lakes at Buda-Madmaheshwar mirror the unmatched views of the neighbouring mountain ranges. Before it gets dark, you return to Madmaheshwar Valley and spend the night in a tent or the Dharamshala.
