Kalpeshwar trek filled with the vibrant, peaceful, and fascinating colours of mother nature.The fifth and last temple on the Panch Kedar list is Kalpeshwar. It is situated at an altitude of about 2200 meters (7217 ft) above sea level.It is the only temple of the revered Panch Kedars that is open all year round. The matted hairs or Jata or Lord Shiva are worshipped inside this temple. At Kalpeshwar, Lord Shiva is worshipped as matted hairs, and the route to this holy site passes through dense forests and lush green meadows, beautiful wild flower beds and high ridges.There is also a historic Kalpvriksha tree nearby, which according to Hindu mythology is the tree that grants wishes.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Drive from Rishikesh/Haridwar to Pipalkoti

Hrs:8 km:240 Drive to the lovely Pipalkoti in Chamoli to begin the thrilling Kalpeshwar Trek. The 240km drive meanders through the Srinagar-Chamoli route. When you arrive at Pipalkoti, the lush green mountains with the tranquil white peaks covered in snow will greet you. Overnight stay in a guest house.

Day 2 : Drive from Pipalkoti to Salna (35km), Trek from Salna to Kalpeshwar (2,200m)

Hrs:2 km:4 Trek, Lord Shiva Temple Waking up in the morning, take a drive to the quaint Salna Village. After reaching the hamlet, start the Kalpeshwar Trek. The first point to ascend to is Kalpeshwar. Arriving at the destination, visit the Kalpeswar Temple. You can access the main area of this stone temple, where Lord Shiva's matted hair is worshipped, through a cave passage. Nice, fresh air will make you feel absolutely satisfied. We'll set camp here and take in the beauty of nature. Overnight camping in Kalpeswar.

Day 3 : Trek from Kalpeshwar to Base of Pass

8km/4 Hours Trek, Villages Enjoy the breathtaking views to start the day after breakfast in the camp. As you start ascending through the steep slopes and proceed towards the Base of Pass. You can closely see local life and culture as the route passes through a number of undeveloped communities. After reaching your goal, retire to your camp for the night. Overnight stay in camp.

Day 4 : Trek from Base of Pass to Dumak/Jungle Camp 2,500m)

8km/4 Hours Trek, Alaknanda Valley Begin your journey from the Base of the Pass and gradually climb towards the Dumak Village. Enjoy the breathtaking vistas of the Alaknanda Valley and the picturesque terrace fields as you ascend to the settlement. Overnight stay will be in camp/homestay.

Day5: Back Dumka/Jungle Camp to Pipalkoti

Revived after a night’s rest at Dumak, begin your walk through dense forest that opens up into the untarred beauty of alpine pastures. Today, back you will reach the Pipalkoti. Where you will spend overnight in camps.

Day 6 : Pipalkoti to Rishikesh/Haridwar (8 Hours)

After having breakfast, and leave to Rishikesh. goodbay to the journey, with your beautiful memories.

    The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
  • Safety equipment
    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
  • Accommodation
    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
  • Permits/ Forest fees
    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
  • Food during transit to and from the base camp
    Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
  • Mule and Porter charges
    Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
  • Personal Expense
    Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
