The gangotri tapovan trek is scenic with nature’s bounty and is decorated with fragrant flowers, snow-capped peaks, and similar jaw-dropping views. Take a dip in the holy Bhagirathi River, which is considered one of the sacred rituals. During the Gangotri glacier trek, one can also immerse in the divine aura of the pilgrim cities- Rishikesh, Uttarkashi, Gangotri, and Bhojwassa. Marvel at the sight of the Bhagirathi sisters to experience the summit views.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Dehradun – Uttarkashi- Gangotri (250 kms/ 7-8 hrs) (3048 m/ 10,000 ft)

Get transferred to Uttarkashi (1150 mt) via a hill town of Chamba and Tehri which takes 5-6 hrs. As you reach Gangotri check-in to your hotel. In the evening, you are free to explore the nearby places on your own. .

Day 2 - Acclimatisation day at Gangotri

Have breakfast and enjoy the entire day just being alive in the religious vibes. Acclimatization is like health supplement to your body to get used to the environmental and low temperatures. Gangotri temple- Gangotri is one of Char Dhams of Uttarakhand. Stay in Guest House.

Day 3 - Gangotri (3048 mts/10000 ft) - Chirbasa (3792 mts/12440 ft) 14 kms trek/5-6 hrs)

Today, post breakfast, start trekking towards Chirbasa (3600mt). The entire trail passes through dense forest. You can watch a small temple near the destination and a beautiful campsite near down the river in Chirbasa. Enjoy staying at the river side camps. Amble around the picture perfect surrounding and in the evening head to witness the stunning sunset on Bhagirathi group of peaks. Have dinner and a peaceful stay at.

Day 4:- Chirbassa (11680 ft) to Bhojwasa (12435 ft)

After breakfast trek to Bhojwasa (12435 Ft), the source of the Ganges. 5 km trek in 3-4 hours. Beyond Chirbasa the terrain becomes really desolate and barren. In fact, it has been referred to as Arctic Tundra by many trekkers. From Chirbasa we trek further to Bhojwassa, the entire trail passes through dense forest. In Bhojbasa there is a small temple and a potential campsite near the river. In the afternoon we are free to explore the area and to enjoy excellent sunset on Bhagirathi's group of peaks.

Day 5 Bhojbasa to Gaumukh (3,900 m) to Tapovan (4,335 m)- 7 h

Bhojbasa to Gaumukh to Tapovan, 7 hours 9 km Early in the morning enjoy the panoramic view of the Bhagirathi group of peaks. After breakfast, we trek to Gaumukh (3,890 m), the source of the Ganges. We explore the area and trek to Tapovan, one of the finest high altitude alpine meadows in the area. The trek from Gaumukh to Tapovan has a steep ascent, and as we climb, the view of the surrounding peaks becomes clearer. Post dinner, retire for the night in your tents.

Day 6 – Tapowan (14600 ft) - Chirbasa (11680 ft) Trek (9 kms / 4-5 hrs).

Post breakfast in the morning, trek down to Chirbasa and the downhill trek for 5 to 6 hours will let you reach the Campsite at Chirbasa. Spend the night here.

Day 7 – Chirbasa (11680 ft ) to Gangotri (10171 ft).

Post breakfast in the morning, trek down to Gangotri and the downhill trek for 5 to 6 hours will let you reach the Guest House at Gangotri. Dinner and overnight stay at a guesthouse..

Day 8 - Gangotri Dehradun

Post breakfast, get a drive to Dehradun and wind up the six day trek beautifully and with plenty of good memories.

    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.

    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accomodation and seprate accomodation for girls/ladies will be povided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.

    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assiston trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.

    Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
  • Mule and Porter charges
    Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
