Chanderkhani Pass – Located in the Himachal Pradesh state’s Kullu district, Chanderkhani Pass is located at a height of 3,650 metres.Chanderkhani Pass is a window to some of the largest Himalayan homes which chaperone your journey. Witness the grandeur Bara Bangal range in the west while the Pir Panjal ranges fall in the north and Parvati towering high in the east. It welcomes you with lively meadows unfurling against the canvas of majestic peaks.The Chanderkhani pass trek requires walking through trees like blue pine and deodar, walnut, golden oak, and wild cherry.The trek offers a wide view of the Kullu region and the cloud touching peaks. The trek embarks from Naggar and after crossing the Chanderkhani Pass at 12030 ft, the trailheads to the Malana village.Best time of trekking May to September. Can see beautiful trails and green forests with flowing streams.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Naggar : Rumsu-2,150m, Stelling- 1,350m

Trek /5-6 Hours Start your trek by assembling at Naggar. The activity is enjoyable since it is surrounded by wild cherry, walnut, golden oak, and blue pine. From the settlement, a hike begins through the lovely meadow Once at this place, you ascend for around an hour or more to the path that brings you to Rumsu village around 2150 m. From here, there is a clear route that takes you to Stelling pastures approximately 1350 m high. Your trekking journey of 5-6 hours will come to an end. Tonight, you will sleep in tents under the night glow.

Day 2 : Stelling - Chiklani Basecamp

Meter-3,450m,Trek/5-6 Hours To get to the summit of Chanderkhani pass, which is covered in snow till the end of May and is a paradise for nature lovers. Enjoy a hike that would first be on charming Stelling and Ghalkrari pasture stretches. you take a steady ascend to the Chiklani basecamp approx 3450 m above sea level. Treverse the ridge and get down to the beautiful Camp at Chaklani. Overnight at Chaklani.

Day 3 : Chiklani Basecamp - Chanderkhani Pass

Meter-3,650m- Nagruni Thach (2,800m),Trek/5-7 Hour. Dhalakda Pathar, Chanderkhani Pass, Bara Bangal Range, Pir Panjal and Parvati Ranges, Nagruni.. Your whole trekking journey provides stunning sights of snow-clad mountains and charming open valleys. Today, you ascend to the Dhalakda Pathar and later proceed to a steady uphill on the ridge of the Chanderkhani pass. From here, soak in the great views of Bara Bangal range in the west, Pir Panjal to the north and Parvati in the east . Tread carefully and arrive at the camping ground of Nagruni where will pitch tents for the night.

Day 4 : Nagruni Thach to Malana (2600m)

Trek/5 - 6 hours . This day, the path from Nagruni carries on to an at times steep downhill till you arrive at Manala . Enjoy the trek that is a calming one amidst conifer forest. Do you know there are around 630 different species of conifer trees. Reach Malana Village located about 2600 m above sea level, mingle with the locals. After a fair dinner, pitch your tent for the night.

Day 5 : Malana to Jari, Drive from Jari to Manikaran to Kullu

Trek/2-3 hours,Drive/ 1-2 Hours. Today morning, you carry on with the downhill climb on a steep through a route that is marked well till Jari. At first, you go downhill amidst fields and then pass through a woody area of mostly Deodar trees. Proceed downhill to Manala Nallah. When at this place, cross the gorge area and arrive at Manala Power project site. Proceed walking to Jari, from where you hop in to a vehicle to be driven to Kullu through Maniraran. Reach Kullu - that marks the end of your Chandrakhani Pass trekking journey.
