Overview

Brahmatal Trek There are indeed similar routes in the Himalayas with comparing beauty but definitely found at much higher altitude. Never ending ridge lines, sprawling Bugiyals, High altitude lakes, majestic peak views and snow on the trail make it an compelling proposition for a winter trek. Brahmatal Trek is a hidden and secluded lake amidst the ridge, where Lord Brahma meditated according to the mythology. The peak view from the route is captivating, from east to west one can see the High Himalayan ranges. From right to left on one side we can see Mrigthuni, Trishul, Bethartoli Himal and Nandaghunti. On the other side we can see the massive Chowkhamba, Nilkanth, Kamet, Hathi and Ghoda peaks. This is just the opposite ridge of the famous Roopkund trek and offers a Birds-eye view of the route including Ali Bugiyal, Bedni Bugiyal, Roopkund and Junargali inlcuding far poised the famous Ronty saddle.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Kathgodam to Lohajung

Arrive in kathgodam early morning. Pickup from Kathgodam Bus Stand/Railway Station in Tata Sumo or similar vehicle. Distance from Kathgodam to Lahajung is 225 Kms & will take close to 9 hours with a few breaks on the way. We will arrive in Lohajung by late afternoon & check into a guesthouse for the night.

Day 2 : Lohajung to Bekaltal

After breakfast start trek. On the route get magnificent views of Nandaghunti Peak.The Trek is mostly inside the jungle of Oak and Fir . The trek to Bekaltal is 8 kms and is done in 4-5 hours. Overnight Stay In Tents.

Day 3 : Bekaltal to Khabekhal (or Brahmtal)

During Winters This Trek Is Covered With Snow. It’s A 3 To 4 Hours Journey To Bhramtaal. The Trail Goes Through A Forest. There Is A Place Called Telindi Top. From This Place You Can View The Mighty Himalayan Ranges, With Peaks Over 7000 Meters. A Short Walk From This Place Is The Khabekhal Lake.

Day 4 : Khabekhal to Bhramtaal to Daldum.

In The Morning After Breakfast, Start The Climb Towards Bhramtaal. From Khabekhal To Brahmatal Top, Pass Through Chota Jhandidar And Bada Jhandidar. It Is A Trail On A Mountain Ridge With Valleys On Both Sides. You Will Take Approx 2.5 Hours To Reach Brahmatal Top. On The Way, Look Out For The Magnificent Himalayan Ranges On Your Right, Especially Mt.Trishul ,Which Is Very Close To You Along With Nandaghunti. If You Are Lucky Enough And If The Sky Is Clear You Will Have A Magnificent View Of The Complete Himalayan Range From This Trail. From Brahmatal Peak To Next Camp Site,Daldum, It Will Take Approx 3 Hrs To Trek. From Khabekhal Campsite To Daldum Campsite, It Is Approx 2.7 Km, For Which You Will Have To Trek Through The Forest.

Day 5 : Brahmtal to Lohajung

Follow the same trail back to Lohajung. Stay in the guest house.

Day 6 : Lohajung to Kathgodam

We depart towards Kathgodam early morning by road, marking the conclusion of this exhilarating trek to Brahmtal Lake.In case, you want to explore the scenic beauty of Lohajung, you can take the day off and embark on a local sightseeing tour on your own. In such a case, the facility and service included in the Brahmtal Trek Experience comes to end in Lohajung itself.

    The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
  • Safety equipment
    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
  • Accommodation
    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accomodation and seprate accomodation for girls/ladies will be povided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
  • Permits/ Forest fees
    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assiston trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
  • Food during transit to and from the base camp
    Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
  • Mule and Porter charges
    Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
  • Personal Expense
    Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
