Overview

Bedni Bugyal is situated at an altitude of 3354 m, and standing here, one can witness the spectacular sight of the snow clad Trisul and Nanda Ghunti. The lush green idyllic meadow overlooks the western valley and is adorned with colorful wild flowers of different types. There is a lake called Vaitarani near by and also a small temple. Ali-Bugyal is another verdant undulating meadow above the tree line, which is equally enchanting. However, Ali Bugyal is comparatively untouched and unspoiled due to the lack of water sources.

Itinerary

Day 1 :- Pickup from Kathgodam

pickup from kathgodam in morning and drive to Lohajung (~ 2300m, 7500ft) which is 220 Km away. The journey may take around 10 hours. We cross Almora ,Kausani and glwadum on our way. Night stay in Guest House.

Day 2 :- Lohajung village - Wan - Bedni Bugyal

In the morning drive 10 kms to Wan, which is the road head for the trek. We will trek 11 km (5-6 hrs) to reach Bedni Bugyal, probably one of the best camping sites in the Garhwal Himalayas. Dinner and overnight stay in tents. Bedni Bugyal is a charming green meadow adorned with flowers in a spell binding varieties, in full bloom. There is a small lake situated in the midst of the meadow, where Tarpans are offered by the devotees. Situated nearby is a small temple where the devotees pay there obeisance, during their halt at Bedni Bugyal

Day 3: Bedni - Ali Bugyal - Bedni (10 kms/4 hrs)

After breakfast , We will trek up to another Bugyal, Ali Bugyal(3300 mts). After exploring the area trek back to Bedni for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 - Trek from Bedni Bugyal to Wan and back to Kathgodam

Trekking, Rhododenron forests, alpine meadows As you start your return trek, bid goodbye to an unforgettable experience as you can capture a glimpse of Mt. Trishul from Bedni Bugyal on a clear day from Kanakdhar, en route Wan. Follow steep descents, gradual climbs through forests packed with blooming rhododendrons. After a steep descent for the Neel Ganga, arrive at Wan. Drive to Kathgodam.

  • Safety equipment
    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
  • Accommodation
    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accomodation and seprate accomodation for girls/ladies will be povided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
  • Permits/ Forest fees
    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assiston trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
  • Food during transit to and from the base camp
    Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
  • Mule and Porter charges
    Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
  • Personal Expense
    Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
