Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival Leh

Arrive in Leh through flight. check in to the hotel. This day is reserved for relaxation and acclimatization. Overnight will be spent in the hotel.

Day 2 : Acclimatisation at Leh

sightseeing in Leh This is an extra day added in the itinerary to help you get acclimatized. Visit Shey and Thiksey Gompa and also Stok Gompa. Being in the same destination will assist in getting acclimatized well for high altitude. Overnight stay will be in rest house/tents, there is also provision of sacks

Day 3 : Drive Leh to Chilling (10,500ft) and trek to Skiu (11,150ft) | Drive:- 65 km, 2-3 hours (Leh to Chilling) Trek:- 9 km, 4-5 hours (Chilling to Skiu)

Today; on the first day of the Markha Valley trekking, indulge in an early breakfast and drive through Spikut Village to reach Chilling. Enjoy the trail through Rumbak Village to reach Yurutse and come across several stream crossings Overnight stay in rest tents.

Day 4 : Skui to Sara (11,800ft) | Trek 10 km, 7-8 hours

From the pass, enjoy views of valleys on both sides, the Zanskar range, and some distant summits of the Himalayan range. This is where your hike of short stage and moderate gradient begins. overnight stay in the camp.

Day 5 : Sara (3400m) - Markha (3800m (Trek 6/7hrs) | Trek 10 km, 7-8 hours

Brace yourself for a long and moderate hike to the charming Markha Village, cross several streams along the way. Start early today from Sara, carry along packed lunch. The trail is somewhat similar to the previous day. The place is laced with green fields, willow trees, and a deserted palace. Camp beside a gurgling stream. Overnight will be spent in camps.

Day 6 : Markha to Thachungtse | Altitude:- 4,100m/13,400ft Trek:- 13 km, 8-9 hours

Another exciting day to go for a rejoicing trek to explore Thachungtse. Do not skip the morning meal as the day is going to be very tiring and hectic and you need to feel energized throughout the day. On the way to Thachungtse, you will be crossing River Markha and visiting Hankar, the highest village of the valley Camping and overnight stay at Osla.

Day 7 : Thachungtse to Nimaling | Altitude:- 4,800m/15,800ft Trek:- 7 km, 3-4 hours

Give a beautiful start to your fourth day of the trip with a relishing and healthy breakfast. Get ready to enjoy today’s trekking experience at Nimaling. You will be passing through a chain of glassy ridges and multiple moderate slopes. We must say that you are not going to forget the day’s experience for many years Overnight stay will be in a local hotel.

Day 8 :Nimaling (4700m) - Kongmaru La (5150m) - Sumdo (3800m) - Leh 3500m (Trek 7hrs) (Drive 2hrs

On the final day of your adventure trip, you will be climbing up to Kangmaru - La, the highest point of the trek. On reaching the top, you will get to see the colorful praying flags accompanied by the mesmerizing views of Mt. Kang Yatse I and II. Do not forget to capture some amazing clicks in your phone and camera before descending and boarding the cab to reach Leh Airport.

    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
  • Accommodation
    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
  • Permits/ Forest fees
    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
  • Food during transit to and from the base camp
    Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
  • Mule and Porter charges
    Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
  • Personal Expense
    Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
