Overview

Vasuki Tal or Vasuki Taal is a high glacial lake situated at an impressive altitude of 14,200 feet above sea level in Kedarnath Dham of Uttarakhand. One can spot Brahma Kamal and other Himalayan flowers blooming around the placid lake, making the aura divine.  The Himalayas have been revered as the abode of divinity, since the dawn of Indian religious thought. Several venerated pilgrimage sites dot the foothills and the peaks of the Himalayas. The Ganges, revered as a holy river originates in the glaciers in the insurmountable heights of the mighty Himalayan ranges. Most noteworthy of the Himalayan pilgrimage sites are Badrinath and Kedarnath.

Itinerary

Day 1 : Dehradun to Gangotri (3,048 m) - 9-10 h drive

300 Km Drive to Gangotri through the Mussoorie. Visit the Kempty Falls, 15 km from Mussoorie. The journey takes around 10-12 hours. Overnight stay at Guest House.

Day 2 : Gangotri to Bhojbasa (3,800 m)- 7-8 h trek

Trek through the roaring Bhagirathi River. From Chirbasa we trek further to Bhojwassa, the entire trail passes through dense forest. Experience the excellent sunset on the Bhagirathi group of peaks. Overnight stay will be in rest house/tents, there is also provision of sacks

Day 3 : Bhojbasa to Gaumukh (3,900 m) to Tapovan (4,335 m)- 7-8 h trek

Early in the Morning enjoy the panoramic view of the Bhagirathi group of peaks. Explore the area and trek to Tapovan, one of the finest high altitude alpine meadows in the area. Enjoy the sight of the herds of Bharal (blue mountain goats) are a common sight from here on mountain ridges. On the far side of the glacier the Bhagirathi I, II, III (6454mt), provide an equally impressive backdrop. Overnight stay in rest house/tents.

Day 4 : Tapovan to Nandanvan (4,340 m)- 7-8 h trek

After a brief halt to explore Meru Glacier, we trace back to Nandanvan via Gomukh glacier. From Gomukh turn towards Nandanvan (4340m) and steering on the right one will be on top of the Gangotri glacier. The route from Tapovan leads from the upper section of the meadow till down and onto the glacier. overnight stay in the camp beside the stream.

Day 5 : Nandanvan to Vasuki Tal (4,463 m)- 3-4 h trek

The trek goes on the right side of the Chaturangi Glacier, we reach the highest point of our trek at 4880 meters which is the high altitude lake of Vasuki Tal. Overnight stay in the camp.

Day 6 : Vasuki Tal to Bhojbasa (3,800 m)- 5-6 h trek

We trace our route back through Gangotri glacier to the campsite of Bhojbasa. Camping and overnight stay at Bhojbasa.

Day 7 : Bhojbasa to Gangotri (3,048 m)- 4-5 h trek

Via the Same route which we did the first day we reach the holy town of Gangotri, we look back and share experiences of the trek Overnight stay will be in a local hotel.

Day 8 : Gangotri to Dehradun- 9-10 h drive

After breakfast gets ready for travel down to Dehradun. Enjoy the sublime view of the pine forests, the majestic mountains, and the lush grasslands. Endoftour.

    The above trek cost includes transport to and from base camp.
  • Safety equipment
    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
  • Accommodation
    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
  • Permits/ Forest fees
    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
  • Food during transit to and from the base camp
    Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
  • Mule and Porter charges
    Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
  • Personal Expense
    Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
