Overview

The Valley of Flowers National Park presents an ethereal view and an unforgettable experience for visitors. Spread over an area of 87 sq km in the Chamoli district, the Valley of Flowers National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and forms one of the two core zones (the other being the Nanda Devi National Park) of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. The valley is believed to have been discovered in 1931, when three British mountaineers – led by Frank S Smythe – lost their way and chanced upon this spectacular valley. Attracted by the beauty of this place they named it the “Valley of Flowers”.

Itinerary

Day 1 — Haridwar​/Rishikesh - GovindGhat/Joshimath (6,151 ft) (Drive/287 km) (8 - 9 Hours)

Drive to Joshimath via Devprayag. On the way visit Devprayag where Bhagirathi and Alaknanda rivers meet. The confluence makes it The Holy Ganges. Arrival at Joshimath by evening, Joshimath: The religious centre, established by Adi Shankaracharya, which he called Jyotirmath, later came to be known as Joshimath. Near by temples one can visit are Nav Durga and Narsingh

Day 2 — Joshimath - Govindghat/Ghangaria (10,000 ft) (26 km Drive/9 Km Trek) (3 to 4 hours)

After an early breakfast drive to Govindghat. Which is the starting point of the trek From Govindghat there is a gradual ascent along a well maintained pilgrim trail to Ghangaria. Upon arrival at Ghangaria check into Camp. Explore The surroundings in the evening.

Day 3 — Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers and back to Ghangaria (11,320 to 12,820 Ft.) ( 5 Km Trek 4-5 hours)

Trek from Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers Mesmeric Valley of Flowers starts. Delight in the sight of green carpets being adorned by a myriad of exotic flowers and flora. Arriving at the valley, gaze through its enchanting beauty and romance the various colours of the nature Spend amazing moments discovering the bright and appealing flowers in the valley Back to Ghangria for overnight stay.

Day 4 — Trek from Ghangria (9,600 ft) to Govind Ghat (6,300 ft). Drive to Joshimath (6,150 ft) (5 hours, 12 km trek + 20 km drive)

Day 5 — Depart from GovindGhat/Joshimath to Haridwar

Depart from GovindGhat/Joshimath. You will reach Haridwar between 6.00 pm and 7.00 pm. The awesome tour ends here

  • Safety equipment
    First aid, medical kit, oxygen cylinders, stretchers, Walkie-Talkie etc. will be available at campsite.
  • Accommodation
    Stay is included from Day 1 to Last Day. Tents/Homestays/lodges will be provided. Tripple sharing Accommodation and separate accommodation for girls/ladies will be provided
  • Meals
    All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast at Last day are included. Veg food will be provided during the trek.
  • Permits/ Forest fees
    UTT will arrange trekking permits and forest passes.
  • Experienced Trek Leader & Team
    Qualified trek leaders haing in basic / advanced mountaineering courses certificates/ degrees will assist trek.Other staff member includes qualified cooks, helpers and porters.
  • Food during transit to and from the base camp
    Food would not be provided during transit and trekkers have to bear the cost at their own.
  • Mule and Porter charges
    Generally we expect trekkers to carry their bag-pack and luggage themselves. For those who wish to use Mule/Porter need to pay Rs 350 per day for same.
  • Personal Expense
    Personal Expense of any kind. The trek cost does not include stay at any location on last day
