The domesticairport of Dehradun is Jolly Grant Airport. It connects Dehradun to othercities and towns across India such as Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Mumbai,Trivandrum, Lucknow and Chennai, via regional airlines such as Air IndiaRegional, IndiGo, Jet Airways, SpiceJet and Ventura AirConnect. Dehradun doesnot have an international airport. So tourists from abroad can reach the cityvia international airports located in metropolitan cities of India such asChennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, etc. These airports have frequent flights to citiesscattered across the world.

Nearest Airport: Jolly Grant Airport is located at a distance of 22 kilometresfrom the city centre.

By BUS

Dehradun is well connected to most cities such as Delhi, Shimla, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Agra and Mussoorie by Volvo, Deluxe, semi-deluxe and Uttarakhand State Transport buses. These buses arrive and depart from the Dehradun Inter State Bus Terminal (ISBT) near Clement Town. Buses depart from here every 15 minutes to one hour. Other bus terminals in Dehradun are the Mussoorie Bus Station, located at the Dehradun Railway Station which has regular bus services to Mussoorie and other nearby cities. Another interstate bus terminal in Dehradun is the Delhi Bus Stand on Gandhi Road.

By Train

Dehradun is connected by regular train services to cities Delhi,Lucknow, Allahabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ujjain, Chennai and Varanasi. The DehradunRailway Station is located 1-2 kilometers away from the city centre and shouldtake you only ten minutes, depending on traffic. Dehradun is connected to therest of the country by trains such as the Shatabdi Express, Jan ShatabdiExpress, Dehradun AC Express, Doon Express, Bandra Express and theAmritsar-Dehradun Express among others.

Road/Self Drive

A popular tourist destination, Dehradun has a strong road network, which makes for a pleasant driving experience. Dehradun is well connected by road to cities like Delhi by the NH 58 and 72 is approximately a 4 hour drive. Chandigarh is located at a distance of 167 kilometers and is almost a 3 hours’ drive. Dehradun is also well connected to cities like Haridwar and Rishikesh.
